The Corrections;  Positions I've Held Which, in Retrospect, Were Wrong:

1.  That Son Volt put on a good live show.
2.  That Check Your Head was an embarassing, tawdry little album.
3.  That the following foods are nasty: tomatoes, Fresca, tofu, spinach, asparagus, onions, olives, feta cheese, and maybe shrimp.
4.  That "to each according to his need, from each according to his abilties" would be a really good way to run a society.
5.  That Kevin Costner consistently makes very good movies.
6.  That middle-class liberals are unbelievably twee and lame, and really should put more effort into keeping it real.
7.  That the rest of the world was as interested in my post-college existential crisis as I was.
8.  That Superior, WI is a really cool place.
9.  That the Anchor Bar is the key to Superior, WI's status as a really cool place.
10.  That using any guitar effect other than distortion was heresy.
11.  That mountain bikes with suspension are for pussies.
12.  That Jane's Addiction were pretty good.
13.  That drinking a couple of Cokes a day had nothing at all to do with my inability to lose weight.
14.  That Subway makes a high-quality sandwich.
15.  That using a Mac was somehow morally superior to using a Windows-based machine.
16.  That I'd make a good lawyer.
17.  That Kevin Smith's movies were really funny.
18.  That there was something embarassing about liking Van Halen.
19.  That Catholicism was for me.
20.  That Judaism was for me.
21.  That Buddhism was for me.
22.  That we were never going to get diminishing returns from Tom Robbins.
23.  That punk rock is the only rock worth rocking to.
24.  That the only way to win at Civilization is to maintain an overhwelming technological lead over the rest of the world, so that you can eventually smash them with a tanks-vs.-guys-on-horseback world war (this is a good way to win, but not the only way).
